OceansBio, an electronic medicine startup, announced that it has been selected for the first cohort of the "KDB NextONE Busan" and the 11th cohort of the "IBK Changgong Busan" innovative startup programs.
On the 9th, the Korea Development Bank (KDB) announced 17 outstanding startups, including OceansBio, during the orientation and launch event for the first cohort of "KDB NextONE Busan," held at the Southeast Regional Investment and Finance Center in Busan.
KDB NextONE is an early-stage startup incubation program that began in 2020. Following its establishment in Mapo, Seoul, the program has now expanded to Busan, aiming to foster the local venture ecosystem. OceansBio was selected after overcoming fierce competition with a 7:1 ratio and will receive comprehensive support through the program, including office space, dedicated mentoring, IR consulting, demo day participation, and assistance in global expansion.
Additionally, OceansBio has also been selected as an "IBK Changgong Innovative Startup" by IBK Bank. In the second half of this year, IBK Changgong selected 85 innovative startups to participate in a five-month startup incubation program. Representing the health and diagnostics sector, OceansBio will receive customized mentoring and consulting services through this program. IBK Changgong offers a wide range of support, including VC investment connections, open innovation with large and medium-sized enterprises, industry-academia-research technology matching, and global expansion programs.
OceansBio stated that being selected for both the KDB NextONE Busan 1st cohort and the IBK Changgong Busan 11th cohort has laid a significant foundation for global commercialization. They added, "This dual selection will be a major turning point for our successful entry into the global market."
